“PLANTS ARE LIVING THINGS”
TU B’SHVAT AT THE JERUSALEM SCIENCE MUSEUM
In honor of Tu B’Shvat you are invited to join us for a festival of greenery at the Bloomfield Science Museum in Jerusalem.
The celebration will begin on Saturday 11th February and continue until Thursday 9th March.
Additional activities include Let us grow in peace at the Museum, and the Fields of tomorrow exhibit, where visitors learn about plants, its food, its needs, and stages of growth.
The identity card of wheatis all about wheat’s DNA. Each participant will receive a souvenir to take home (Saturday 13:30, 14:30).
Flower available for transportation– parents and children create their own ‘flower’ and study how plants transport water from their roots to the tips of their leaves, defying the force of gravity. You can take your flower home with you.
Fascinating scientific demonstrations with audience participation include our Demonstration in a pita, an entertaining look at how a pita pocket is formed, what happens when a cucumber is electrified, surprising sources of energy, and how to make hummus mousse using scientific tools.
